My day began with a 2,000 foot descent to the middle fork of the Feather River, which I crossed on one of the most magnificent foot bridges I have set foot upon in recent memory.
The river was refreshing and was nice to bathe in and cook with, not necessarily in that order!
It wasn't all that deep but there were visible signs of the river being much higher.
It was an invigorating 7 mile climb up from the river, and within a couple of sweat filled hours, I was back on top of the ridge.
I happened upon a magical little place called Fern Gully, reminding me of the childhood movie of the same name.
It was easy to identify why this little place was given its name.
Makes you want to protect the forest, right?! ;-)
Another rotation completed, another opportunity to be grateful.
