We woke up just a few miles shy of the highway that would take us into town. On our way there, we walked through land owned by a couple of lumber and paper companies.
It was easy hiking and the trail was well maintained.
Down at the road I found a few surprises.
Trail magic galore!!!
Lots of goodies for hikers, thank you!!!
I also saw my friend Critter for the first time in about 500 miles.
Citrus soda and citrus fruit, yum!
This kind couple gave Britt and me a ride to town. Thanks guys!!!
In my last supply box was a note from "Auntie Marianne," a close family friend and someone I've looked up to my whole life.
She included some cash with her kindly written words and ended up treating me to an excellent week's worth of food by way of her generosity.
We then headed to a nearby church that hosts hikers in their backyard.
I love it when churches open their doors to us "wayfaring strangers." It seems so in step with the spirit of Christ.
Needless to say, we slept well with bellies full. Thanks again, Marianne, for all your love and kindness!!!
